Artemis Fowl and the Seventh Dwarf - Eoin Colfer

7thdwarf.JPG  A world book day special novella has came our way with something fowl inside it... Yes I know, that was a bad joke- but then speaking of humour there isn't much in this book compared to the others. Possibly due to it's size and also because of when it is set, which is just after the first or second book. This fact is not confirmed though it is definitely early on in the Fowl adventures.
The ending of this one shows the first real sign that Artemis may not be as evil as he looks to be. This is portrayed as a twist however and a very good one too, this story is also included within the: Fowl Files book which I am yet to read, as I am with The last Guardian.

The Periodic Table: A Field Guide to the Elements - Paul Parsons and Gail Dixon

The periodic table was originally thought in the early 1860's, as a way of organising new elements found by scientists, the table was redesigned a number of times by different scientists to sort elements in different ways. Eventually, they came up with the system that we have today, which you will see in science when you learn it at school or college etc.     The book is a work of non-fiction and is designed to teach you about each singular element found in the modern periodic table, the book has a factfile of each substance accompanied with a very detailed overview of it. The book is full of wonderful ultra high definiton images which make the work seem fresh and gives it an extra sense of quality.   The book really does teach you an awful lot about the elements, from Carbon to Einsteinium. Any budding scientist would love to add this to their collection I'm sure, the book is really interesting and is good for reading through thouroughly, just flicking through now and t

The graveyard book - Neil Gaiman

Like ghosts, spirits. Graveyards? Well read the book! Winner of the Carnegie medal 2010 this book is full of mystery. Can young  Bod, who has been raised in the graveyard escape the man Jack, who has already killed his family? An irresistible book, deserves to become a modern classic.  7/10 A masterpiece.

Skulduggery Pleasant: The Dying of the Light - Derek Landy

This was a little of a disappointment in some ways, the ending chapters were a bit confusing but that didn't stop the read from being utterly compelling in every way!   I would say that a different ending would have worked well but the starting potential of the book maybe created a sense that the read would be ore than it was... 9/10 Good things for comments.
